External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)
Rodriguez Ros is an approved applicator of Sika External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems or also known as ETICS: Sika’s ThermoCoat system.
If we seek to obtain energy efficiency in a building, we must obtain an ideal thermal insulation. The goal of Sika’s ThermoCoat External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) is to reduce energy consumption in newly-constructed buildings and also in the rehabilitation of existing ones.
The External Thermal Insulation Composite System makes it possible for buildings to save on their electricity bill, as most constructed buildings have very deficient and/or insufficient thermal insulation. Even more so in the case of buildings older than 20 years whose energy insulation capabilities are insufficient.
Improving the thermal insulation of a building implies energy savings between 30-35% or greater in many cases in terms of heating and air conditioning consumption as a result of reduced losses, resulting in turn in less CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
Thermal insulation achieves energy savings, cost reductions and improves the health conditions while respecting the environment. Installing the external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) is particularly suited for building rehabilitation, as it allows solving insulation problems easily without having to perform any construction work inside the dwellings, therefore avoiding nuisance to the owners. The installation procedure is as follows: install insulating panels (expanded polystyrene or EPS) by fixing them onto the building’s outer walls using adhesive mortar and mechanical fixings. After reinforcing with mesh, the outer ornamental coating is applied.
